It is designed to provide a high level estimate of the economic impact (Gross Value Added (GVA) to the regional economy) and the return on investment (RoI) of a typical voucher plus satellite broadband project, as recommended by BRESAT, that a region might consider
It is quick to use and is ideal for comparing different options for the project i.e. different target broadband speeds with different sizes of target population
The tool should only be used to provide an initial guide. It does not provide sufficiently accurate or detailed enough results to support a full project appraisal. Use of the full appraisal model we have developed is required for that. The tool should therefore not be used to replace the need for a full appraisal nor should the results be relied upon to make any investment decisions
The tool is quick and easy to use. To use it, all you have to do is enter

The tool is based on the full cost benefit model but all of the other variables in the full model are set to default settings and cannot be varied in the tool
